The Countryside

Monmouthshire is a beautiful place to visit at any time of year with plenty of history and stunning countryside to explore. While in the area, why not take time to visit one of the many historic castles including Monmouth, Chepstow or Caldicot, all less than an hour away.

If you require more gothic loveliness, you could visit the stunning Tintern Abbey and the nearby ‘Devil’s Pulpit’ for astounding views over the Wye Valley. From here you can access one of the many walking trails in the area, which take in the spectacular scenery; a real escape from the everyday world.

If cafes and shops are more your thing, there are numerous market towns in the local area, with strange streets to be explored (perhaps by moonlight…) and plenty of lovely tea rooms and pubs in which to sit and watch the world go by.
