An impressive room with a curtained, four-poster bed and chaise-longue for discussing revealed mysteries in relaxed splendour. In a quiet corner of the first floor, Vine offers quick access to the Beech Gallery and, by extension, the curator, who may be able to help answer nagging questions.

The masks of Lords or Ladies Vine are provided, with the room, by your sponsor The Lighthouse Institute. Not quite an esoteric order, not quite a think-tank, Lighthouse was established after World War 2 to ‘keep humankind from the rocks of endless night’: that is, to ensure the invisible world stays in balance. Lighthouse is the most benign of the Sponsors;  better at policy documents than exorcisms. Solid research and safety protocols, though.
