Celebrate Imbolc with some shiny merch!

When looking at dates for the 2023 season, I spent so much time scurrying down rabbit holes of festivals from many cultures and religions. So many names! We have settled on Equinox for our late March event which is running on March 29th and the on 1st of April (no it really isn’t a joke!) we are having our very exciting first special event: The Locksmith’s Dream Ball. We are very excited about it here and are busy planning and creating the puzzles, narratives and experiences that will make this event different and are very pleased that several of you have booked to come back to us showing real trust and faith — can’t wait to see you again!

The ball will introduce a new character to the LD cast. The enigmatic dance teacher ‘Ms Corbett’ who understands society better than most and will certainly ensure that you perform as befitting your place in the world. She definitely hails from the era when dancing and deportment in European high society were designed to signal social distinction and were integral to many social rituals of royalty, aristocracy, and the upper-middle classes. Invitations to events she attends are highly exclusive, and always take place firmly behind closed doors. Very little is known about what takes place there beyond scandalous whispers and rumours which can’t possibly be true…

For those of you still to experience the mystery and luxury of Treowen, Equinox midweek is also booking. Midweek events are a great way to start a long weekend explore the beautiful welsh countryside. You will always recieve a warm welcome from Hawthorn and of course Mr Hatch will happily chat with you by the fire over a glass of something delicious. We really hope to be announcing some more dates soon so keep watching the social media — of even better sign up to our newsletter!

Curator’s cabinet

This last week saw the launch of the Curator’s Cabinet. These wonderful curios that are now available have been popular so far. From the beautiful hard-enamelled badges to the stunning hand-bound symmurgist journals there is something for everyone to enjoy. My personal favourite is the Suppression Bureau, Welsh-slate coaster set and I’ll definitely be adding those to the Hunter’s Moon office at the next Symurgy (and probably my writing office too but Ivan doesn’t know that yet!).

Additionally, there is a beautiful collection of items relting to the story of the doomed Lady Crimson and her ill-fated performance of an aria from The Invisible Opera. For the avoidane of spoilers I can’t say too much, so you’ll have to go and learn more for yourself. These folios of artworks, letters and narrative clues are a limited run. Each print is hand-finished and individually numbered. They really are lovely and come with letters of introduction from the curator themselves!

Payments

People have been asking about ways to split the costs, so we have provided a solution! You can book a deposit here which allows you to split the cost into two payments. Once you have bought your deposit, you can put it towards any booking at a time of your choosing. Hopefully this is helpful, and in addition it helps us to plan for running future events knowing that people are interested.

Spread the Word

We have had an amazing time developing this little corner of the world and creating fantastic immersive spaces that people have enjoyed. We have so many ideas to get out in the world but we can’t do that without your help. Please, share the posts, spread the word. The more we can grow our little community, the more we can develop exciting opportunities for you all.

Dream Responsibly and have a great day.

Laura
